Cornet's Lass 2015Cornet's Lass 2015

The Cornet’s Lass for 2015 is Lois McCredie of Bedrule School House who is the youngest daughter of Stuart and Margaret McCredie. Stuart works as a joiner and Margaret is a hairdresser at The Wellogate Salon. Lois has a sister Lyndsay and brother Gary. Lyndsay is a hairdresser alongside their mother Margaret but also runs a health and well-being business. Brother Gary lives in Cornwall and is a keen surfer and snowboarder. From the age of 5, Lois has been a proud auntie to Lyndsay’s children Glen, Charlie and Alfie.

Lois began her education at Trinity Primary School followed by Hawick High School where she completed sixth year studies. She then continued her education in Dumfries where she graduated as a Registered Veterinary Nurse. After completing her training at Hawick Veterinary Practice, she began her first job in Glasgow at the Weipers Centre Equine Hospital. Lois is currently working for Galedin Veterinary, predominantly in the equine sector, as her passion is equine nursing but she also enjoys small animal work.

From a young age, Lois’ biggest interest in life was horses. She first followed the Cornet at the age of eight and has followed every year since. Lois was the first girl to win the Pony Race on her pony Morinda on the Saturday of the 2008 Common-Riding. She was also a member of the Eskdale Pony Club where she began her friendship with Gregor.

Lois is very much looking forward to experiencing the Common-Riding from a new and exciting position and hopes that everyone has a great time.
